In the paper industry, suppliers of kaolin and calcium carbonate slurry products go through extensive testing to ensure that microbiological (MB) control processes are effective. Better MB control can play a significant role in reducing deposits, improving quality, minimizing downtime, and even preventing rheological scratching due to impaired viscosity stemming from MB contamination.
