Field studies were conducted in Poland, during the 2004/05 cropping season, to determine the healthiness of spring and winter wheat cultivated on an average and intensive level of agrotechnical measures. It was found that take-all diseases of culm base were more exacerbated on the spring form, which was caused by atmospheric conditions. Very low to trace exacerbation of diseases was observed on leaves and leaf sheaths. Leaf septorioses were an exception and these were most detected on the winter form cultivated on an average level of agrotechnical measures. Ear infections were diversified on both forms. The sucking and leaf mining insects damaged both spring and winter wheat more at the intensive level of agrotechnical measures.
