BASF Raises Agchem Pipeline Estimates;Exceeds Margin Targets

BASF exceeded financial targets in its agchem sector last year,and says it has raised the estimated value of its agchems development pipeline.Speaking at a presentation last week at BASF's Limburgerhof,Germany agchem headquarters,Hans W.Reiners,president/agricultural products,said the results reflect the reorien-tation toward specialties as well as cost-cutting measures,under which the business reduced its number of manufacturing sites for active ingredients and pruned its actives portfolio.
