Trimming hedges, for many of us, is second only to mowing in terms of the time we spend on yard chores. Don't offer nearly the array of quality homeowner-grade machines for this task as they do for mowing. Even so, you'll find a fairly wide selection, ranging from professional models designed to work day in and day out, to bargain-basement units for light-duty touchups. To give you an idea of what you can expect, we selected six popular models to test: four electric units from midpriced to top of the line, one cordless unit and one gasoline-powered trimmer.
