The Multi-Fuel Concept was developd by ENERGI E2 for unit 2 at Avedore Power Station, located close to Copenhagen. Construction of the new unit was completed at the en of 2001. The unit consists of a main boiler (800 MW),~1 a biomass boiler (103 MW) and two gas turbines (2 X 125 MW). the main boiler is designed as a pulverized coal boiler. It is a tower boiler with single reheat and is capable of compusting coal, natural gas, heavy fuel oil, and wood pellets. The biomass boiler is grate-fired with straw. The main boiler is fitted with dust, SO_x and NO_x flue gas cleaning equipment.
