Albemarle develops flame retardant to replace pentaBDE

Flame-retardant polyurethane foam manufacturers now have a better alternative to pentabromodiphenyl eth3er (pentaBDE),a widely ued flame retardant chemical that will soon be phased out of production.Albemarle Corporation (NYSE-ALB),which does not make or market pentaBDE,has introduced SAYTEX~R RX 8500 flame retardant,a reactive flame retardant,as a replacement for pentaBE in rthe production of flame-retardant polyure-thane foam.
