Uhde Inventa-Fischer to build MTR plant for Micro Polypet

MICRO Polypet has awarded a contract to German-based Uhde Inventa-Fischer to build a chemical plant in Panipat, Haryana, India. The plant will use Uhde Inventa-Fischer's patented energy-efficient Melt-To-Resin (MTR) technology to produce 216,000 tonnes per year of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) pellets for bottling and packaging applications. The plant, which will be located in Panipat, India, will have a production capacity of 216,000 tonnes per year. The feedstock, terephthalic acid, will be supplied "over the fence" by the company IOCL following production at an adjacent plant.
