Clariant opens new unit for halogen-free flame retardants in Germany

SWISS specialty chemicals major, Clariant, has opened a second production unit for its non-halogenated flame retardants (sold under the brand 'Exolit') at the Hiirth-Knap-sack plant near Cologne, Germany. The non-halogenated additive is used primarily in the electronics and electrical engi- neering (E&EE) sector. The new facility doubles the capacity for DEPAL (diethyl phosphinic acid aluminium salt)-based flame retardants (FRs).
