In portraiture,be it of people,pets,or wild animals,catchlights in the eyes are vital.Bright spots in the eye,created by reflection off the eye's glistening surface,catchlights bring life to the subject.Without them,eyes can appear eerily dull and lifeless-"deadeye,"as in the photo below(left).You can fake them with image-editing software,but here are ways to make eyes truly sparkle.
