European propylene contract prices increase during August 2012

Propylene contract prices in Europe experienced a steep rise in August due to price rises being experienced in the upstream crude oil and naphtha markets throughout July. This led to contracts reaching ?1,065 per tonne, an increase of ?130 compared to July. Steep price rises were also the case in spot prices which experienced a price increase of around ?140 since early July.
