13% BOPP film price decrease in Q3 2011 in Saudi Arabia

Prices paid by converters in Saudi Arabia for 20 micron BOPP film have come down during Q3 2011 by around 13% to US$2.35 - US$2.45 / kg. This is due to lower resin costs brought about by the price of a barrel of oil falling from over US$100 to US$75, causing converters to hold back on purchases waiting for prices to come down further. People are tending to just buy what they need. This further weakened BOPP film demand at a time when sales are normally weaker due to the holiday period.
