Last year was the weakest year for the European construction industry in the past decade. Sales contracted by 8.4%, according to a new report by the pan-European market research panel Euroconstruct (http://www.euroconstruct. org), which is predicting a further drop of 2.2% this year. That said, the researchers predict considerable differences in national trends, with a clear recovery unlikely before 2011.
