Kerr-McGee mulls deepwater Gulf options: Up to 1 Tcf needed for hub-and-spoke at Atwater Valley

E&P independent Kerr-McGee said Apr 30 it wants another discovery or two before moving ahead with a likely hub-and-spoke development at Merganser and Vortex in ultra-deepwater Gulf of Mexico. But the company said it believes development could proceed in Eastern Atwater Valley with less than 1 Tcfe of reserves, near the upper limit of the original threshold of 600 Bcfe to 1 Tcfe.
