Talisman,Nexen to continue overseas growth

Calgary-Talisman Energy and Nexen,the two Canadian independents with the widest global span,are stretching those horizons as a hedge against the maturing North American basins.After both companies released their opening quarter results May 4,Talisman CEO Jim Buckee said his company has "more projects and more growth on the way," while Nexen CEO Charlie Fischer said that in addition to the Alberta oil sands,the Gulf of Mexico,offshore West Africa and the Middle East offer "plentiful opportunities and strong returns."
