A Canadian government agency has cleared the way for Marathon Oil to proceed with the only deepwater gas exploration well scheduled for spudding offshore Nova Scotia this year.The Canadian Transportation Agency rebuffed attempts by Norwegian-based Ocean Rig to displace Marathon's choice of Transocean's Deepwater Pathfinder to drill the wildcat,turning down Ocean Rig's claim that the semisubmersible Eirik Raude should get preference (ON 1/24).
