US makes bid to Supreme Court on Cheney energy papers

Washington-The government's top litigator asked the Supreme Court Apr 27 to presume the White House acted in good faith with its 2001 energy task force and to deny two advocacy groups the "invasive" right to look at the panel's records.Solicitor General Theodore Olson said the court should give the executive branch a "presumption of regularity" in that it did not include non-federal ofe facto members on Vice-President Cheney's energy panel.He also asked the court to reject a 2002 lower court decision letting Judicial Watch and the Sierra Club review the panel's records.
