The plantation industry is at the cross roads. What was a vibrant industry in the recent past now looks like heading towards a future which looks uncertain, bothered with manifold increase in cost of input, cost of workforce, coupled with shortage ofworkforce, uncertain prices, inclement weather and increased incidence of pests and diseases. The very sustenance of the industry in the near future is a big question mark.
