摘要

1. Pesticide residues in tea has been a major non-tariff trade barrier that has been affecting tea trade globally since 1990's. Its not because many tea samples tested high residues, but they did exceed certain default MRLs which were set at very lowlevels approaching analytical detection limits. There was thus a dire necessity felt by members of fixing realistic MRLs which will be acceptable to all stakeholders to ensure smooth tea trade globally.
