The study was conducted at the University of Tennessee Central Region Extension Office, Nashville, TN. The objective of the trial was to evaluate early blight efficacy among fungicides labeled for tomato. On 15 Jun, 'Mountain Fresh Plus' plants were transplanted at 18-in. spacing into 6-ft rows on 5-ft centers. Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. University of Tennessee recommendations for production of trellised, fresh market tomatoes were followed. Tomato plant pieces infested with A. solani were scattered throughout the plots on 5 Jul. Fungicides were applied at 40, 50, and 60 gal/A on 16, 23, and 30 Jul. Early blight severity was assessed on 20 and 28 Jul and 7 Aug, as a percentage of the entire canopy of the plot affected. Rainfall totals (in.) were 2.13, 2.38, and 0.57 for 1530 Jun, Jul, and 1-7 Aug, respectively.
