Water-based radiation curable resins are low viscosity alternatives to conventional 100% solid compositions that do not require the use of diluting monomer or solvent and encompass a wide range of chemistries and molecular weights resulting in differentiated product performance suitable for a broad range of applications. Allnex is a pioneer in the development of energy curable polyurethane dispersions (UVPUD's) particularly designed for specialized high-end applications characterized by a rapid curing with low energy consumption. These include for instance primers with excellent anfeuerung, clear coats with superior mirror effect, top coats suitable for deep cure with high pigment load or hard coats with ultimate scratch & abrasion resistance. More recently, the technology has even been exported outside the usual industrial applications and dedicated waterborne coating formulations have emerged for field-applied applications with high productivity and superior quality.
