Public Access to Business-Related Environmental Information

摘要

Much of the environmentally related information about activities that businesses must submit to government agencies is available to the public under the Freedom of Information Act(FOIA)and similar state laws.The FOIA was signed into law by President Eisenhower in 1958(5 U.S.C.§ 552)and has been amended several times(1).It was intended to give journalists and the public access to records held by the federal government in order to improve the openness and accountability of the government to the public.
