Eurochem and UOP Kick Off Design for Gas-to-Polymers Complex

UOP LLC(Des Plaines,IL;www.uop.com)will prepare the engineering design for a methanol-to-olefins(MTO)process unit for Eurochem Technologies Corp.'s(Singapore)gas-to-polymers complex,which will be built in Lagos State,Nigeria.Slated to come onstream in 2006,the facility will use natural gas to produce 400,000 metric ton/yr of high-density polyethylene(HOPE)and 400,000 metric ton/yr of polypropylene(PP).
