First twin tunnels completed for Toronto subway extension

A CEREMONY took place in Toronto, Canada, recently to mark the completion of 1.6km of TBM-bored twin tunnels for the Toronto-York Spatfina-Subway Extension (TYSSE). / Participating in the ceremony was Julian Fantino, associate minister of national defence and member of parliament; Rob Ford, mayor of Toronto; York Region chairman and CEO Bill Fisch; and Toronto Transit Commission chair Karen Stintz.
