Intellectual Property Litigation in the Russian Arbitration Courts

Russia has a continental legal system based upon codified laws. Intellectual property laws are contained in the recently enacted Part IV of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation. Part IV codifies the laws with regard to intellectual property, including copyright, patents, breeders rights, integrated circuits, trade-marks and trade secrets/know-how.rnIn Russia, court rulings do not have the force of precedent.rnThere are two judicatures in Russia, the Courts of General Jurisdiction and the Arbitration Courts.
