Severn Trent Services (STS) has won a framework agreement to-provide-its TETRA NSAF tertiary ammonia removal technology to Thames Water Utilities. The TETRA NSAF contract supports Thames Water's multibillion-pound capital programme for AMP5. The contract awarded to Severn Trent Services is for three years, with optional extensions in two-year increments for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of wastewater treatment pack- aged plants. TETRA NSAF is an established and proven technology for ammonia ro moval. The upflow, fixed-film biological process is flexible and is available in a range of sizes - from small modular units suitable for above or below ground construction to custom-made configurations for large plants. The technology can be combined with various solids removal processes or enable direct discharge of the effluent depending on individual site circumstances.
