AUSTRALIAN WATER ASSOCIATION SUBMISSION IN RESPONSE TO WATER PROPERTY RIGHTS: REPORT TO COAG FROM THE WATER CEO'S GROUP

The Australian Water Association (AWA) welcomes this opportunity to respond to the above-captioned paper. Rather than addressing all of the points raised in the paper, this response seeks to provide some very specific perspectives, driven by the nature of the Association. Foremost, AWA wishes to acknowledge the enormity of the task involved in preparing the paper and commend the Water CEO's Group on the significant effort it represents. It manages to succinctly address a complex subject. The Association's primary intention is that the comments below will contribute to this important undertaking. To the extent that this contribution may be considered as criticism, it should not be understood to detract from the respect we have for the effort made by the Water CEO's Group and staff.
