Swan group plc was formed through a management buy-out in 2001 to encompass Mid Kent Water, Eclipse Scientific Group, inenco group and Halcrow Water Services. The group provides a variety of services, including water supply, food testing and utility cost control. Due to the nature of some parts of the business, it is regulated by Ofwat (the office of water services). This organisation aims to give the consumer good quality water and sewerage services at a fair price. As such, swan group is obliged to reduce operational expenditure (OPEX) where possible so as to pass savings onto the consumer.
