Rosneft hits 1.3 Tcm of gas with Kara Sea finds

RUSSIA'S Rosneft has unveiled two huge gas discoveries in the Kara Sea that could host 1.3 trillion cubic metres of gas. However, despite the scale of these shallow-water finds, the news was tinged with disappointment because the operator had been bullish about finding oil with the two just-completed wildcats. The country's largest oil producer made the gas finds in Jurassic formations at the Vikulk-ovskaya structure in the East Prinovozemelsky 1 Block and the Ragozinskaya structure in the East Prinovozemelsky 2 Block, according to Russia's Natural Resources Ministry.
