摘要

THE Brazilian Petroleum Institute (IBP) made a forward-looking choice when electing Clarissa Lins as its ninth president last November. Once seen as a club for upstream operators, the industry's main representative body in Brazil had already been moving towards more inclusive representation, and an ongoing strategic review has bringing in the downstream segment as one of its two main drivers. The second driver is the IBP's response to energy transition, and it would be difficult to find anyone better qualified for the task than Lins. The French-born economist is the founding partner of Cata-vento, a Rio de Janeiro-based consultancy specialising in sustaina-bility strategies. It was for this that Lins was known to many of the IBP's members when she was elected to the entity's executive committee in 2016.
