Aramco awards Berri pipe job

ITALY'S Saipem is understood to have landed a $300 million-plus pipeline contract from Saudi Aramco for work on its Berri oilfield. Sources close to the development said Aramco recently selected Saipem for the job, which involves the engineering, procurement, construction and installation of 70 kilometres of onshore and 20 kilometres of offshore pipelines. Work on the project is likely to begin during the third quarter of this year, added sources.
