UK-BASED engineering player Wood is poised to secure a crucial pre-front end engineering and design contract from Qatar Petroleum (QP) for work on its multi-billion-dollar Bui Hanine and Maydan Mahzam offshore oilfields expansion project. Multiple industry sources said QP recently chose Wood for the pre-FEED job following a competitive tender process that had narrowed down to just two players, with Norway's Aker Solutions understood to have been the other remaining contender.
