The Irish Coast Guard (IRCG) is a multimission civilian agency that is heavily dependent on volunteers to perform its missions. The service is Ireland's executive agent for responding to maritime emergencies and one of the nation's four principal emergency services/first responders.The IRCG is one of the five divisions that comprise the Irish Maritime Administration under the auspices of Ireland's Department of Transport, Tourism, and Sport. Located in the capital city of Dublin, the IRCG's headquarters is administratively divided into the finance and administration, operations, and engineering and logistics sections, which report to the director of the Coast Guard, Chris Reynolds.
