The Leeds-Manchester Piccadilly service is to be increased to 115 trains a day. Northern Spirit is also introducing 16 Trans-Pennine Express trains a day linking Hull and Selby with Manchester Airport. The current hourly service between Hull and Doncaster will run every half hour, with a ten-minute reduction in journey times. Similarly, services between Hartlepool and Seaham, Sunderland, Newcastle and the Metro Centre are to be doubled. A new Saturday service is aimed at shoppers and football fans.
