The withdrawal of the second class from the trains running over a considerable portion of the Great Western Railway became an accomplished fact on October 1. As the second-class coaches have not in many cases been withdrawn from service, but simply lettered "third class", the public who elect to travel "third" have the opportunity in these instances of obtaining second class accommodation for the third-class fares.
