The West Coast Main Line will be thrown into chaos again next year when a 12 mile section in the Watford Junction area is closed for 16 days -from August 8 to 25. Other closures in 2014 will take place from May 2 to 5 and December 24 to 29 and then (in 2015) February 14 to 23 and April 2 to 7. The work is part of an £81 m scheme to renew three junctions, replace nine miles of track; upgrade the catenary to make it more robust, re-signal 12 miles between Kings Langley and Bushey and upgrade 120km of cabling.
