Llangollen Class 26 performs well on its Great Central debut

Following the disappointment of the Llangollen Railway's diesel day on March 23 due to heavy snow, the Llangollen Diesel Group was delighted to be invited to attend the Great Central Railway's May 18-19 diesel gala. Class 26 No. D5310 left Llangollen on March 16 and was due to stay at Loughborough until the end of June. The loco performed well on its first visit to the line, working some intensive diagrams. On one occasion it double-headed with No. 5401 and No. D7612 on the rear of the train, which is believed to have been the first time three SulzerType 2s have worked a train together in preservation.
