Line'opens'in County Durham

The Thorpe Light Railway (TLR) opened on June 23, with steam operation provided by visiting % scale'Wren'Pet from the Sherwood Forest Steam Railway. The TLR development is actually a reopening, the line having previously been the Whorlton Lido Railway, which opened in 1972 and closed in May 2005. Rebuilding of the half-mile railway near Barnard Castle, County Durham, by a Friends group, started in 2012.
