When I was doing industrial design in my 20s, I didn't envisage that I would be fortunate enough to end up doing a job which gave me such an instant sense of satisfaction, and where a simple change in material, direction, colour, intensity and all manner of other variables can mean the difference between success and failure. Nature does lighting so well;human beings, on the other hand, are flawed and need time, knowledge and experience to get it right.
