London Underground, like much of the UK, is embracing LED lighting. Its low energy consumption and, more significantly, reduced maintenance means that there is a real push to see LEDs installed in more and more places. They can also make a great difference to light quality, especially when replacing high-pressure sodium lamps, when the colour rendering improvements make the surrounding area look crisp and bright.
