The shorter, streamlined ILE '97 conference takes place later this month in Blackpool. As a preview to the event, we publish a review feature based on an important new book, Lighting Historic Buildings, by pioneer lighting designer, Derek Phillips, who will be presenting a workshop on the issue in Blackpool. This is followed by an edited version of one of the most interesting papers from last year, specifically on the lighting of churches.
