Peabody Energy Corp. alleges in a July 28 court filing that PatriotnCoal Corp. is holding $3.1 million that belongs to Peabody.nThe company said that due to certain contractual obligations,nPeabody makes payments to third parties for health care benefitsnprovided to some Patriot retirees. Peabody said Patriot, which isnthe administrator of the plans, is in turn obligated to pass along tonPeabody any refunds on payments made by Peabody, and in the pastnhas complied with that obligation.
