The fault sealing is the main factor that controls the distribution and occurrence of fault-block oil reservoir, so it is very important for studying the mechanism of fault sealing. On the basis of the analysis of fault sealing under different geological backgrounds, the difference of contact capillary force among hanging wall, footwall and the filling of impervious substance in the fracture belt are main mechanisms of fault sealing. And the corresponding relation between expulsion pressure of sealing bed and height of oil column is further established.
