摘要

The Chinese Altaid orogen is one of the most important orogenic belt located in the northwestern China and a great deal of mineral deposits have been discovered in recent 20 years. Based on the study of stratigraphic, magmatic and structural features gathered form the region, a model of geodynamic evolution of the Altain Mountains called accretionary arc orogeny is proposed in this ppaer. Two major tectonic characteristics of the Altaid orogen are manifested as large-scaled tectonic zoning across the belt, and gradual and continuous migratioof arc magmatism, which were definitely caused by arc accretionary tectionics.
