摘要

Software that integrates biometric and biographic data is being used to verify the identification of U.S. Coast Guard crewmembers serving aboard liquid natural gas (LNG) tankers traveling from Yemen to the United States. The information is pulled together with photographs and presented on a handheld device in a "flip book" format. The technology was introduced as part of the recently enhanced security screening of personnel aboard high-interest vessels such as ships carrying LNG.
