As part of Siemens' Defense Electronics Group, Roke Manor Research has historically been involved in developing solutions for the U K's military. But even before the Cold War began winding down, the company's 240 researchers were increasingly applying their knowledge to a range of civilian applications. Today, RMR's portfolio of military projects accounts for only about 45% of orders and its major source of growth is the civilian communications sector.
