Veteran's Coastal comeback

Used in recent years on Norway's Coastal Voyage during the winter, the veteran motor ship Nordstjeren (1956/2,191gt) is to operate on Hurtigruten's Bergen-Kirkenes passenger and cargo circuit throughout 2010, along with Lofoten (1964/2,621gt), as a result of cash-strapped Hurtigruten finding alternative work for another of their vessels. With Nordnorge (1997/ 11,384gt) already chartered out, the 639-bed Finnmarken (2002/15,539gt) heads for Western Australia in January to begin an 18-month spell with Boskalis Australia, a provider of dredging services, to be used in support of the Gorgon natural gas plant development.
