I was 15 when I signed on as deck boy aboard a 30m vessel called Seeker operated by an investment group of treasure hunters in the Bahamas where my family lived at the time. I spent my days on board Seeker cleaning toilets and scrubbing decks, an amazing summer. That was when the seafaring bug bit me, although I had grown up in the Florida Keys sailing, diving and loved anything to do with the ocean.rnThings progressed from there, I took my mate's licence and worked offshore on seismic vessels, and then moved to Norway after meeting a beautiful Norwegian girl who who is now my wife, In Norway I managed the largest boatyard in the country (I speak Norwegian), worked on ferries and eventually got my Master's ticket and a Master's degree in Marine Engineering from Vestfold Maritime College in Horten, Norway.
