Baltic move for Scottish Viking

Scottish viking remained on the Zeebrugge-Rosyth service for a further week and a half in a freight mode after completing her final passenger round trip on 14-15 December 2010. DFDS, who acquired the Belgium-Scotland link as part of their Norfolkline takeover last summer, restarted a four return sailings a week freight only schedule from 5 January using Finlandia Seaways (2000/11,530gt), the former Tor Finlandia, which was due to be joined by a second vessel. From 3 January Scottish Viking began a charter to Scandlines to increase capacity by a third on the Sweden-Latvia link from Nynashamn to Ventspils, replacing Ask (1982/13,144gt), which joins sister Urd (1981) running from the German port of Travemunde to Liepaja, Latvia.
