When a brand new port complex as exciting at DP Worlds London Gateway announces that it is opening one of the largest logistics parks in Europe just a matter of a few hundred metres from the highly automated gantry cranes which serve the near 2.5 kilometres of quay space this new port boasts, then it is no surprise that the dignitaries are wheeled out to cut the official ribbon. DP World Chairman, His Excellency Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem was joined by UK Shipping Minister Robert Goodwill in the Essex sunshine to do the necessary, in marking the official opening of the first distribution centre at what is set to become the largest logistics hub in the UK.
