TRINAMIC was founded in 1998 to de-velop ASSPs, modules, and complete systems for motion control of fractional horsepower stepper motors and brush-less DC motors used in automotive, of-fice automation and consumer applications. Major investors include venture capital firms 3i and Autovision, a subsidiary of Volkswagen. Trinamic argues that it possesses a unique combination of motor expertise and chip design know-how. Trinamic's application driven approach means that its customers do not need in-depth ex-pertise in motors, DSPs or control cir-cuitry. Trinamic's motion control solutions are designed for use in auto-motive applications, office automation equipment, industrial automation, and consumer electronics.
